Crafting in Comfort

A beautiful studio still has to feel good to work in. This episode is all about comfort — the layout and ergonomics that let you craft happily for hours instead of cutting a session short because something just isn't quite right.

Ergonomics is simply the science of making things comfortable and safe to use, and it shaped every studio in the series. The designers worked with each crafter on the details that matter: reach and counter heights, whether they're left- or right-handed, and how the room flows. As Nerissa noted, Keisha's island needed enough space for everyone to move around it comfortably.

“Ergonomics is the science of making things safely comfortable.”

Built for Hours of Crafting

1

Design for Your Body

Plan counter heights, reach, and seating around you — including whether you're left- or right-handed.

2

Mind the Flow

Leave room to move freely. Keisha's island was sized so anyone could walk all the way around it with ease.

3

Comfort Fuels Creativity

When a space feels good to be in, you'll linger longer — and do your most creative work there.
