"My name is David Long and I am the point person for the Resiliency Governance Council at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. We are a 769 bed Level II Trauma center in Southeastern North Carolina serving 8 surrounding counties – www.nhrmc.org. It was with complete joy and gratitude that I received and opened the box of handmade cards that found its way to me. And I will tell you that it was, in a word, breathtaking. The attached picture was taken by our Chief Nurse Executive, Mary Ellen Bonczek, at a table in her home. Not only did she read every card, she is planning to distribute them to each of our Nurse Managers today in celebration of Nurses Week. This picture has been shared with our entire Executive Leadership Team and will be “pushed out” to our entire network today (7,500 employees) to show that the work that we are doing is making a difference.
